Annulment Lawyers

Divorce Attorneys - Annulment in Atlanta & Georgia

In Georgia, annulment is the process of "voiding" the marriage returning the parties to their pre-marital positions as if the marriage never occurred. While I am certainly that a large number of our divorce clients would like this result, its application in Georgia is rather limited.

Outside of several unusual circumstances, there are really only two major grounds for annulment in Georgia: Fraud and being forced into the marriage.  While these terms seem rather ambiguous, their application has received only limited treatment in Georgia effectively eliminating most marriages from ending in an annulment. If you are recently married and want to know more about whether your particular marriage is eligible for annulment, please contact our office to learn more about the process and to see if your case might be appropriate for consideration as an annulment.

You can rely on Meriwether & Tharp to guide you through difficult divorce and family law situations. To speak to a member of our team, you can call our office or e-mail us to schedule an appointment to meet with someone on our family law team.
