Biography

Elizabeth Christen Doak is an associate with Meriwether & Tharp, LLC and practices in the areas of divorce, child custody, modification, contempt, adoption, and uncontested divorce. Prior to joining Meriwether & Tharp, LLC, Miss Doak studied at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of one of Northwestern's major publications. At Northwestern, she honed her ability to write clearly and concisely. While at the University of Tennessee College of Law, Miss Doak worked with East Tennessee Legal Aid and served as the Disability Advocate for the Disability Resource Center. As a member of these organizations, she advocated for individuals in unique circumstances and focused upon both the emotional and legal needs of her clients. Miss Doak spent her final semester in school aiding victims of domestic violence at the University of Tennessee's respected Domestic Violence Clinic. Her legal studies focused upon Alternative Dispute Resolution, and she has completed the formal mediation requirements to become a Georgia state certified mediator. Miss Doak approaches her cases with the goal of maintaining her client's emotional and psychological well-being through the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques.
