Law
Since joining Meriwether & Tharp, LLC in 2006, Ms.
Kass has focused the majority of her practice on family law.
Ms. Kass handles a wide range of family law cases, including,
divorce, child custody and support modification, stepparent adoption,
domestic violence and contempt. She has participated in many settlement
negotiations, mediations (formal and informal), status conferences, and
hearings.
Ms. Kass
understands that your case is likely a life-altering event for you and
strives to make the process as easy as possible.
Her goal is to help you resolve your case amicably, as this is
almost always better for all parties involved, especially children, and
usually results in both parties being satisfied with the outcome.
If an amicable resolution through negotiation and/or mediation is
not possible, Ms. Kass will zealously represent you in Court.
Wills and Estate Planning
Ms. Kass handles the wills and estate planning practice for Meriwether &
Tharp, LLC. She routinely drafts
Last Wills and Testaments and Advance Directives for Healthcare for
current divorce and business clients of the firm as well as clients who
only need legal assistance in drafting these estate planning documents.
In so doing, she meets with clients to ascertain their intent as it
relates to their assets, their children, and their healthcare desires,
and offers suggestions and options for clients who may have never
considered what they would do in the event of their demise. Ms. Kass
ensures that clients understand their options regarding the estate
planning process and also offers advice regarding how to handle your
estate documents after they have been executed.
Professional Experience
Ms. Kass began working for Meriwether & Tharp, LLC upon graduating from
Georgia State University College of Law. Prior to attending law school,
she gained valuable business experience working for a minor league
hockey team, the Women’s United Soccer Association, and the American
Arbitration Association. During
her time in law school, Ms. Kass worked for two private law firms,
interned with a non-profit legal organization providing legal assistance
to artists, and actively participated on the Moot Court Board. These
experiences allowed Ms. Kass to hone her advocacy skills in a variety of
legal environments and exposed her to many aspects of the legal
profession.
